Hopewell Humane Society is proud to be the only cat-exclusive, no-kill rescue facility in Hopewell, Va., and surrounding areas. We are all volunteer-run and rely solely on private donations. With no paid staff except when we don't have the needed volunteers, every dollar donated goes to the welfare of our cats. We are celebrating our 65th Anniversary in 2025. Our mission is to rescue, provide safe haven, and veterinary care until the cats and kittens in our care find their forever homes, and to educate and assist the community regarding cat welfare. We accomplish the latter through outreach to the local community by providing information on proper cat care, behavioral problems, and other issues involving cats. We also assist local residents with our PET FOOD PANTRY when available and assist individuals through the cat adoption process. We promote spaying and neutering, and all our cats and kittens are sterilized and fully up-to-date on shots before adoption. We also provide post-adoption support for adopters and anyone needing cat care advice. Because we only work in the area of cat welfare, we know cats! We believe that every cat, regardless of age or purrsonality, deserves to have a forever home and our cats stay with us until that home is found.
